The audience was thrilled to participate in the experiment , and many of us have asked: what can we get, how do we get it, we can really see the emotion of the people? Who knows: in an experiment like this it all starts with curiosity, then as you try to solve the various problems encountered in the street. Now we are at this stage, we are trying to improve Cinetermografia in order to get the data really significant. appropriate software is being developed at the Faculty of Computer Science: We will follow the movements of the faces, to analyze them individually and get the average of each area considered. And then there are simple practical measures, probably at the next screening (soon publish the full calendar) the camera will no longer be placed on the side of the screen but in the middle room, to get a more detailed view of the audience.
One thing that may not has a lot to do with Cinetermografia, but there was very pleased, it was the talk made outside the cinema with some blind people who were in the audience. We started talking about our research, then we moved on to discuss the audio commentary that is provided through headphones. We found their comments very interesting : "The narrator," they said, "is concerned to provide a detailed description of what you see on the screen, but for us it is not so interesting. It would take a more important story, which sought to make, with few meaningful words, the sense of what is shown. A good example was that of a scene where the camera down through a building, crossing it in all his plans. The comment describing this scene in a pot, while a better idea, we thought, could be to describe the scene in a less didactic. A voice says, "Seventh floor. Sixth floor. ... Fifth Floor" and so on, might have better described what the director wanted to say with the descent to the ground floor.
In short, the experience of Cinetermografia proved an interesting novelty for those who have seen the film, but also for us.
